Finally, after 3 years, I have caught an entire seizure on video from start to finish.  This time, I felt it coming.  It's what we call a "big" one because he screams and stops breathing...but in terms of length it's not "that" huge - just over 1 minute.  Course that feels like an eternity to this mom.

This is the end of one of Cody's big seizures.  I let the worst part go by and then grabbed the camera.  This was in late February 2008.

This is Cody beginning to learn "PECS" (picture exchange communication system.)  This is a common alternative to verbal communication.  He hands me a picture of what he wants!  This video was taken on Oct. 22, 2007!  Go Cody!

This is how Cody's infantile spasms looked initially when he was 6 months old.  It's almost undetectable but when his left leg moves in, that's an individual seizure.  For Cody, there were 60'ish individual seizures in a 5 minute cluster.  Play Movie

This is a classic seizure for Cody during the 1st year after diagnosis.  Each jerk to the left is an individual seizure.  It's unusual for infantile spasms to be asymmetrical like this - meaning that he leans to the left.  Cody had 10-15 of these clusters a day for 7 months, then grew out of them.  Play Movie

In January 2006, Cody became seizure free for 3 months.  After not smiling or laughing for many months, this was the little boy who emerged!  We FINALLY got to hear our son laugh!  Play Movie
