After a super fantastic day yesterday, today Cody had 4 huge seizures within 3.5 hours.  I had to give him a valium pill.  I am working on an alternate to valium with our neurologist because Cody has such a hard time with valium.  Interestingly, he recommended a drug called Clobazam to use as valium would be used on bad days.  Cody went seizure free from Clobazam in December of '05.  Didn't last - but I had some left over so that's convenient at least!

It was such a bummer because Cody's buddy Gail and his other buddy Chris (gail's son) were due to come over and take him on an outing - thereby giving me a nice break too!  Gail has been such a trooper about taking Cody on her errands - he loves to go to Costco or the store - so it's a win/win!  She gets stuff done, he gets out and about, and I get a break!  Well no sooner did they walk through the door than Cody doubled over into a non-breathing seizure.  Ugh.  He passed out after.  So much for that outing!  Gail and Chris took Casey instead for an hour so I could just lay with Cody and comfort him.  He had another while they were out.  And one more when they got back.  Gail was nice enough to play with Casey while I wrote the neurolgist.  And Chris kept an eye on Cody too.  I know Gail reads this often - THANK YOU so much for being there in a pinch!  It's nearly impossible to manage both boys when Cody has so many seizures at once.  You really blessed me today.

I noticed Cody had a super rumbly tummy yet again and horrible gas.  I just have to get a work up done and start to do some elimination diets.  We saw a DAN Dr. (defeat autism now) who has a biomedical approach (no drugs.)  He gave me a list of things to have tested, hair, blood, stool, urine...they do a complete analysis of Cody to determine where there may be deficiencies, allergies, etc.  The Dr. recommended a GF/CF diet (gluten free/casein free) but I just haven't been able to implement it yet.  I've been so caught up in school stuff, unfortunately.  I really need to shift my focus and attack this re-curring gastro issue Cody seems to have.
