Hello all,

Well we survived the fair.  But barely.  No one warned me about taking a 3 year old.  Poor Casey had no concept of 'waiting in line' or not being able to go on every single ride.  He couldn't understand why he couldn't have strawberries on his elephant ear (not an option on the menu!)  Then he couldn't understand why he couldn't buy all the Superman balloons and toys at the little kiosks.  So many lessons to be learned from the fair.  We did our best to withstand the tantrums, explain the 'whys', and press on.  But it definitely wasn't a relaxing expedition!  This was the expression on Casey's face every 10 minutes or so because he didn't get exactly what he wanted:

But there were times he rallied too.  He did love the rides and I loved watching daddy go on every kiddie ride with him - Don with his knees up to his cheeks from being squished into a kiddie car.  casey_monroe_fai_012

Cody stayed home, because he would have HATED it.  We tried the fair with Cody once and he screamed non-stop the entire time.  But Cody's had some fun this weekend too.  He's loving running so we are busy finding places where he can sprint with nothing in his way!

Today we're just being productive doing laundry, getting groceries, and we even steam cleaned our carpet!  Hope this holiday weekend treated you all well.

In closing, here's Casey as a dragon!  Yes, we're already testing out Halloween costumes!  Love, Shawna
