Hello there. I woke up this morning to the sentence: 'mommy, I want a cheeseburger for breakfast.' Is it horrible that I smiled and said 'okay' in an 'I'm IN!' kind of way? I cooked up the burger and the bun and the cheese - and watched Casey down every single bite by 8am. He is such a quirky little character. His breakfast requests are always the highlight of my day. Yesterday on his breakfast menu was 'a big piece of celery and some raisins.' Some days it's 'pickled asparagus' or 'a cereal picnic.' Casey lives life large - always making the non-traditional choice - or adding a bit of flair here and there. I love it. Everywhere he goes he MUST wear sunglasses, a hat, and his dinosaur rubber boots. As Daniel at church always says, 'Casey...I like your flavor!' I do too. Today Casey made me die laughing as he strolled into the living room, shook his hips, and broke out into a rendition of 'PANTS ON THE GROUND, PANTS ON THE GROUND....LOOKING LIKE A FOOL WITH MY PANTS ON THE GROUND.' Then he scurries off while I'm still laughing. Oh if I could have, I would have had 8 kids! I just love being a mom. I think it's the best thing E-V-E-R. Even with all of Cody's myriad of challenges, I just love being a mom. I can't believe Casey's soon going to be 3. We have potty training on the brain as I've told him that when he turns 3, he wears underwear from that point on. And whatever happens, happens. We've had a drawer full of various super hero underwear, veggie tale underwear........and we have 2 toddler potties raring to go. But it just hasn't 'stuck.' And let's face it, I've had bigger fish to fry so I've let birthday number '3' become D-day for potty training time. Wish us luck!! That's our news for now. I'm trying to be in bed by 10pm every night and I've got 9 minutes left! Cody is having such horrendous nights that I'm trying to get at least a few hours in before he's up at 3am. with love, Shawna
