I wanted to share something I've found that is AMAZING!  If you have a special needs child or a sick child - or if you yourself have a disability (or just plain want to be inspired) check out this website:http://www.joniandfriendstv.org/

Joni Earekson Tada has a series of 1/2 hour TV shows that you can watch at that link.  Each is a story of a family who has overcome some kind of tragedy (special needs child, death, wife in a wheelchair, etc.) and who are truly living victoriously.  You can't watch these 1/2 hour episodes and walk away feeling sorry for yourself or depressed - promise.  On my worst days, I put one on and my perspective instantly shifts as I see families walking a similar road to ours - who are truly JOY filled.

There are episodes on autism, Down's syndrome, being married to someone with a disability (which is a great show for any married couple to see!), famous grandpas who have disabled grandkids...they really are so inspiring to me.  Joni herself is in a wheelchair and shares such amazing truths about how she is actually HAPPY for the lot she's been given!  I want to live that way - and I am a far cry from it.  But these videos show me (remind me) that it IS possible to not just resign yourself to a life of misery - or desperation - or depression....no matter HOW BAD it is!

I hope you check them out - especially on those 'bad' days we all have.

Just go to the link and click on 'episodes' and you can watch them right there on your computer...there's a list of the episodes and their content on the right.  I know us moms with s.n. kids have very little time to ourselves - but trust me - we NEED to be reminded that there IS a bigger picture and there ARE people who can inspire us and show us the way to living in true victory EVEN when you have a suffering child.

If you check them out, let me know what you think...I'd love to hear if they inspire others as they do me!  There's probably about 20 episodes in all.

with love,

Shawna
