Hello - boy has Casey been entertaining us.  He has learned a song from start to finish.  It's a song about a butterfly - and he loves it because he has nicknamed mommy 'Pink Butterfly' and calls me that everyday.  One day he just told me, 'mama is a pink butterfly!'  Pink is my favorite color - and who knows why he picked "butterfly" but I'll take it as an endearing compliment.  Here it is (with lyrics deciphered below!)

"There was a little caterpillar, climbing up a tree.  He wiggled long, he wiggled short, he wiggled right to me.  I put him in a little box.  Don't go away, I said.  But when I opeend up the box, a butterfly instead!  Now I could never make one.  Even if I tried.  Cause only God in Heaven, can make a BUTTERFLY!"

He is such a joy.  And he LOVES his pumpkins.  He picked out a teeny gourd at the pumpkin farm that (to him) looked like Mr. Nezzer from Veggie Tales - and he sleeps with it every night!  casey_singing_018

Tomorrow night we will try taking both boys to our church's Harvest Party.  Casey will be Bob the Tomato....Cody probably won't dress up as he doesn't like anything outside the 'norm.'  It will be a challenge to see if Cody can hang out in a loud lodge full of kids running around.  We may not make it for more than 15 minutes, but we will make it nonetheless!  Casey needs to see that Cody is included in Halloween activites, not left behind with a sitter.  And Cody will certainly benefit from trying a new experience.  Don and I, however, will probably be frazzled to death!  :)

with love, Shawna
