Last night I cooked chicken for dinner in the crockpot. It was all saucy and had been in the crockpot all day so it was unusually gooey and moist. Casey is used to chicken looking like either chicken nuggets, or like grilled chicken that's kind of more dry and maintains it's shape. I served him up a piece on his favorite blue plate with some carrot sticks, grapes, and a roll. I was quite proud that it was a reasonably healthy dinner for him - the chicken was organic - and I thought he might find it yummy with all the sauce on it. So there Don and I were at the table (Cody usually comes and goes). We said, "Casey, time to pray" - so Casey gave us his little hands and said our prayer. He said, 'pay mama, pay dada, pay toady, pay Tasey. ahhhh-ment.' Translation: "Lord I pray for mama, for daddy, for Cody and Casey. Amen." "Great job, Casey! Now time to eat!" He looked down and caught a glimpse of his dinner for the first time. He looked at the plate, looked at me, looked at Don, looked back at the plate and exclaimed: 'MAMA, THIS CHICKEN FREAKS ME OUT!' (well it actually sounded more like: 'mama.....dis cheeeeek-en.....FWEAKS me out!' ) We died laughing. 'Oh, you don't like the looks of it?' 'NOOOOOOOOOOO. Hot dog.' "okay Casey - I'll go make you a hot dog.' Luckily he likes organic chicken or turkey dogs so at least it as a decent substitute. That little guy keeps us in stitches ALL day every day. Cody is still chugging along - last night he was up from 3a-5a which was grueling. I think he's just still feeling a bit punk and it's hard to sleep. I've had a helper with me all week during the day which has been great. Today she cancelled which left me thinking: 'WHAT AM I GONNA DO?' I have a sick child, and a VERY active 2 year old - couped up in a house. We can't leave because Cody's still contagious. We can't go outside because it's raining. Should be interesting! We saw one teeny tiny seizure yesterday which made me want to die. But that's the only one since Sunday afternoon. If you feel so led, please join in prayer that theses seizures stay at bay. It has been such a beautiful respite from those things terrorizing us. Dim lights Embed Embed this video on your site I leave you with a video of Casey enjoying mud puddles yesterday. It was such fun. He is still talking about it: 'weee-membah da puddles, mama?' My only regret is that I didn't get in there and splash around with him. Next time.................
with love, Shawna
