Hi there, Cody is still progressively doing better.  He vomited once last night, and has a recurrent cough and runny nose...but that's nothing compared to where we were!  Don and I are so used to the vomit scenario that when it happend last night (while cody was sleeping) Don and I just mobilize - he starts blotting up the barf, I run to get the vinegar and Lysol, he puts the bed linens in the washer, I change and clean Cody.  I think Cody has vomited upon every square inch of our house in the last 6 days.  I took Casey in yesterday to get tested for H1N1 because I thought his throat looked red and h was crying alot - but he tested negative.  So everyone else in our house is still symptom free.  Whew.  Praying it stays that way!

I actually wish Cody would rest more - he took one nap yesterday and one today but the rest of the time he's milling around the house.  I even tried giving him melatonin on Dr's orders to try to induce a rest time, but he only slept for 45 minutes this afternoon from it.  The poor little guy, I almost feel like he's a prisoner to movement.  Even though his body may be telling him to stop and rest, he can't quite 'get' himself to.  I wonder if it takes being totally immobilized by the flu to actually get him to lay flat and sleep for days.  Now that he's semi-recovering...he's tryuing to be constant motion and it can't be good for him.

Casey has missed mommy and daddy and even though we're home, I haven't had time to truly just dote on Casey much.  So today I took him out for a date to the pumpkin patch - just he and I.

Yes, I was the mom who let Casey run wild in the mud puddles.  Everyone else was ushering their children around them - giving me the evil eye - and I kept saying 'MORE jumping!  More puddles!'  If there's anything I got from our recent bout of Swine flu with Cody it's the perspective that I need to live in the moment and enjoy my children.  So Casey got as muddy as he possibly could, then we stripped him down to his diaper and went home and got him all warmed back up.  It really was fun.  He has been a bit out of sorts since we got back from the hospital - very wild - very undone - which is totally understandable.  We all have been that way.

So there you go - today's update.  Thanks for checking in!  We covet your prayers and are so grateful to those who have happened upon this site as a result of prayer chains.

with love,

Shawna
