Hallelujah! Cody slept through the night last night! That is a first in the last 2 months. I pray that it's because this new formula is working - and not just that his lack of sleep caught up with him. I slept from about 11:30pm to about 8am. I got up one time to give him seizure meds but went right back to sleep. This is the first time in 2 months I've gotten more than 3 hours of sleep a night. And here's a weird phenominae - I am EXHAUSTED today. What is up with that?!? You'd think the ONE time I get some sleep I'd at least feel a little refreshed. But I feel worse than I normally do on 3 hours of sleep! What a strange thing. This has happened before too - Don and I often laugh that when you live in constant sleep deprivation - a good night's sleep literally throws you for a loop and you are a zombie the next day. Strange......... Cody had a 1.5 minute seizure this morning and slept it off - now he's in the jacuzzi tub and Casey is taking a nap. My friend is in with Cody - giving me a chance to catch up on emails and my blog! I'm also organizing my kitchen for the shipment I got yesterday of gravity feeding bags and tubes. I think they're going to work SO much better. We have a hook on the ceiling and we sit Cody in his high chair - put the gravity bag on the hook - and the formula flows down through the tubing pretty quickly now that we've figured it all out. The higher we hold the bag, the faster it moves through the tubes. So hanging it from the ceiling has helped the speed of his feeds. Of course our kitchen looks like a mad scientists lair - with IV bags hanging from the ceiling - tubing circling the counters - boxes and packets of formula strewn about - topped off with syringes laying here and there. Haha. I bet our neighbors who can see through our windows think I'm running a meth lab! Ha! Either that or they think I'm constantly administering propofol to myself like Michael Jackson! From what I hear about the status of his house when he was found - a lot of this stuff was present! But no - I'm simply trying to keep my son hydrated and nourished. Casey had a busy morning outside. We found a canoe nestled back in the woods in our backyard. He is obsessed. All day long he says 'my boat' 'see my boat.' So we trudge back through the branches and brambles - and see this green canoe hidden in the trees. I assume the people who lived here before left it. Today we're going to try to yank it out of there and assess! Perhaps it will actually float! Either way, Casey just wants to sit in it and eat the freshly picked blackberries from his morning in our yard. I think picking blackberries is one of my favorite passtimes. Not sure why - it's just so pure - and always makes me feel like a kid. OUr yard is so overgrown, that it gives us lots of opportunities to pick them! Casey LOVES it. I find branches that are low and he gets his little tupperware container and goes to town! Of course every time I look at him there are zero berries in the container and his face is covered in berry stains because they go straight into his mouth! Such fun. Well I must run - Cody's starting to screech. That's never a good sign! He must be ready to get out of the tub and go out for a walk. with love, shawna
