Happy Easter to all. We had a nice day with friends. Casey got to go on his first Easter egg hunt and scored handsomely! We ate a great meal, after a great church service, and had memorable fellowship.
I hope you had a nice day as well. My friend Kim wrote a song that I sing to my kids at bedtime....and I found myself humming it all Easter week as I thought about Jesus death on that cross - and resurrection - and what it means to me. Here are the lyrics: "There's a tree on the hill, standing tall between two trees... infamous for the hanging of murderers and thieves. It was written of old, 'cursed the One who hangs there', but an innocent Man knew it was His cross to bear. And the blood rich in mercy and cleansing flows down....to pardon the criminal still. And the stone of Golgatha is now fertile ground....on a very Fruitful Hill. Nailed to that tree, no one took His life that day. He cried, 'It is finished' and He gave it away. Arms stretched out wide, my name etched in His hands.... the pure Son of God fullfills His eternal plans. And the blood rich in mercy and cleansing flows down to pardon the criminal still.... And the stone of Golgatha is now fertile ground....on a very Fruitful Hill. I am the planting of the Lord, sown in the shade of that tree. And the cross of cruelest death is now....the tree of LIFE to me! And the blood rich in mercy and cleansing flows down to pardon the criminal still.... And the stone of Golgatha is now fertile ground....on a very Fruitful Hill.
