MARATHON COUNTDOWN PDF Print E-mail

We've been prepping all day for the marathon - getting our "GO TEAM CODY" signs made and making final plans for how to coordinate all this.  We just drove to the "drop off point" where Cody will be joining Don for the last portion of the race to see where to park tomorrow.  We planned my route to drive to the stadium and park.  Whew!

Don starts the race at 8:15am - Cody is handed off part way thru the race - and we all meet up at the finish line!  Don's been stretching ALL day~ and loading up on potatoes, spaghetti, quinoa, and other good carbs & proteins.  He has his outfit picked out - his ipod loaded with good running songs - and I'm taking both boys tonight so he can sleep well.  Last night Cody was up all night yet again seizing - Don and I stayed up with him.  I took him to Children's today to make sure he wasn't sick and he checked out fine so we chalk it up to just his unpredictable seizure life.

We'll end the evening spending a little time praying with the boys - praying for endurance for Don.  Praying for good weather!  Praying for Cody to have a good day so he enjoys the race time with Daddy.  Praying for Don to remain injury free and for him to have a special energy tomorrow that will see him through the grueling race.  And we'll be doing a lot of thanking - thanking the Lord that we have a child who is alive, smiling, and able to join Don.  We'll be thankful that we have a 2nd child who is healthy, adorable, and nothing but a blessing to us.  And we'll also be grateful for you - those who are following this journey of ours with open hearts.  We feel your support and are so glad for it.

Wish us luck!  TEAM CODY ROCKS SEATTLE TOMORROW!
