Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Just after I reporterd yesterday that Cody had a fantastic day -- he was up until midnight and we were all going bonkers. Mind you, when Cody's up, EVERYONE'S up because of the noise he makes and the commotion he creates. Bless his heart - he just can't stop his body long enough to fall asleep. Finally at midnight he fell asleep and I crawled into bed next to him. Only to have him wake up at 3:30am screaming bloody murder. He screamed - in some kind of pain - for an hour. I finally got him out of bed and brought him into the family room to see if a change of scenery would help and he calmed a bit. But then he couldn't go back to sleep so I was up with him until 4:30am. He finally fell asleep in my arms and I transferred him to the bed and got in next to him. Within 10 minutes he was beginning on a cluster of seizures that occurred every half hour until 9am. Our life can be so crazy. So none of us got any sleep - and are sitting here in stupors trying to enjoy Thanksgiving. If I could *ever* get Cody's sleep issues solved, our quality of life would shoot through the roof! We piled the kids in the car and drove the marathon route this morning. We are charting a place to hand Cody off to Don as he runs by. There will be lots of road closures so dropping Cody off, then getting to Memorial Stadium in time for the dash across the finish line could be tricky. Then there are the questions - do I bring Casey? Do I have someone else drop off Cody so I can make it to see them cross the finish line? How many cars do we need? Lots of stuff to ponder - but it will all work out. Well, time to try to get showered and head out the door to a friend's house who is gracious enough to let our crazy family be part of her Thanksgiving gathering! My whole family has colds so we can't go near them. A cold means the Emergency Room for Cody. And after this 3 week bout with a cold and bad ear infections - I am super dooper paranoid! He's just finally healthy again - and I want to keep it that way! Again, Happy Thanksgiving to you. I want you to know that just by logging on to this site, you are the recipient of our prayers today. Today we are taking time to pray for each and ever person who cares enough to keep track of this blog. We don't know you all by name, but God does. You keep us afloat and your support is so meaningful to us. So today we are thankful for YOU. Our hearts are filled with gratitute and we are humbled that our little hero son has drawn such amazing people into our lives. with love, Shawna
