Wow - long time since I've posted.  I wish I could say it was because we were so busy having fun that I simply lost track of time.  No - kind of the opposite.  Cody made 2 trips to the E.R. having had the biggest seizure we've ever seen.  He seems a bit better now.  The whole summer and all of Sept. and early Oct. he had some of the best seizure days ever.  But slowly he began to take a turn.

Cody has also been removed from the school setting due to his fragile neurological condition.  His neurologist felt that the chaotic environment of school wasn't as healthy for him as a calm, consistent home setting where he has continued to thrive and show progress.  He has struggled at school and has regressed in communication there.  We are talking with the school to try to establish a new program based in the home - which requires many meeting, many lawyers, and a lot of stress.  I won't go into it as I do not report school things on this site.  But now that he's back home and his educational day can be tailored to his sensory needs, his seizures, his unique sleep schedule, etc....he is doing much better.

Don is busy prepping for the marathon.  Today he took Casey on his run which was a fun change for both of them!  Don's longest run so far was 15.4 miles over the weekend - WOW!  He feels great (well, as great as you can feel while training for a marathon!)  But his body's holding up and he's getting excited for the big event.  IT will be fun that the marathon is on Nov. 30th and cody's birthday is on the 26th!

Now that Cody will be schooled in the home, I'm looking for some fun opportunities to get him out and about.  I found a "kids gym" in Redmond that's new where I can take both Cody and Casey for a "sibs class" in the gym.  I think it will be a great way to keep the social piece of Cody's education - they have "circle time" "group activities" and such.  Course I'll have to be there to make each activity "Cody-ized" in a way that he can participate.

Casey is doing just great - still not talking but babbling up a storm and babbling as if he's having a conversation with you.  He tilts his head, says "ya bah dooo dah glue glee glah" - all the while using his hands in all kinds of expressive ways and raising his eyebrows when he's done as if to say, "you know what I mean?"  If I don't answer, he looks at me quizzically, like he's wondering how I could possibly not know what he just said to me.  I usually just answer his directed babbling with "you DON'T SAY!?!"  or "I can't believe that, tell me more!"  And he continues his diatribe.  Or he walks around the house with my cell phone up to his ear pretending to chat away.  Dare I say he may have his mommy's gift of "gab?"  Yikes!

That's our latest news.  There's a lot more that I'm not saying - those who know us, know the rest of the story with regard to school issues.  We covet your prayers at this time with regard to Cody's educational plan - that the Lord would provide the very best setting and therapists for Cody to thrive.  We have an idea of how that should look - but we know that God is in control and are trying to trust Him with the details.

With lots of love!!
